Take me to Finland so I can sleep in a glass igloo and watch the northern lights.

Do people see the world the same? (literally). Sure, we (for the most part) all look at a blue shirt and say yes thats blue. BUT what if the color I'm seeing is different than what you are seeing? Sure the color we are both seeing is technically what we perceive to be blue, but what if I took your eyes for a day and saw that everything you and I learned to be blue, actually looked yellow to me from your eyes? Think about it.

This is Stuart. You wouldn't know from the picture, but he is quite the athlete. I played volleyball with him one day, and he dominated. Next thing I know he's running down the road doing all sorts of flips and cart wheels. And, he's a killer handstand-er to boot. He's a natural. I'm not saying he's the next Michael Jordan or anything, BUT even if he was, would his talents lead him anywhere? Kids I met this summer in Uganda just don't have the same opportunities as kids here, and it breaks my heart. Seriously, they deserve more. They're lucky if they can even go to school, and they're even luckier if they have actual buildings for classrooms. We really, really need to be grateful for all we have here. Ugandans that I got to know this summer didn't worry about material possessions, all they know is their simple life, and they are completely content with that. I have never met happier people. We have a LOT to learn from them.

Holy nor'easter. I love snow. And when church is canceled. I also love church, but who doesn't love to be snowed in? Bring on the family scrabble game (new tradition as of today), hot chocolate, and our token "snowed in" movie: Jurassic Park. (not really "token" in any way actually, but it IS on today's agenda). Oh, and can't forget our daily dose of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Happy sledding!

Fall semester 09 is over--weird. Lauren and I always say that "a lot can change in a semester...and a lot can NOT change." I'd say this has been a pretty life changing semester. Change is scary, but it's good. It makes life more interesting. Flew home to Massachusetts for maybe the last time today--also weird.
